Thinking Gender is a public conference highlighting graduate student research on women, sexuality and gender across all disciplines and historical periods.
The conference panels and plenary are free and open to the public. Come to the California Room at the UCLA Faculty Center to sign in and get a program, a map of the Faculty Center, and information on places to eat lunch on campus. The conference lunch is limited to pre-registered participants and their invited guests.

CALL FOR THINKING GENDER 2010 CONFERENCE COORDINATOR
The paid position is open to current UCLA graduate students who have or will be advanced to doctoral candidacy by Fall 2009. The Coordinator will plan and manage the event in conjunction with CSW staff. The conference coordination will run from approximately August through February; the hours are flexible with periods of intermittent intensity. The Coordinator will enhance her or his organizational skills, establish contacts with innovative graduate students and faculty from across the country, gain a behind-the-scenes perspective on a competitive selection process, and perform an important service to the academic community.
APPLICATION MATERIALS
The application must contain the following materials in hard copy only:
One copy of:
- Cover Letter
- Curriculum Vitae
- Transcript (unofficial copy is acceptable)
- Letter of Recommendation from a faculty member who can speak to applicant’s organizational skills. (Letter should be sealed in an envelope with recommender’s signature across the back flap.)
DEADLINE: Thursday, March 12, 2009 at 5:30 pm. We cannot accept late or incomplete applications. Please be sure to submit all application materials on time.
Thinking Gender is an annual public conference that draws graduate students from across the disciplines--humanities, social sciences, life sciences, arts, law, education, public health, and public policy--to share feminist research on women, sexuality and gender. The conference will be held on February 5, 2010.
