For this set of briefs, we partnered with Michelle Johnson, former Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Welfare in the UCLA School of Public Policy and a CSW Faculty Affiliate, on the development of a call for graduate student policy brief submissions in the area of “Food In/Security: Local, National, or Global Problems and Solutions.” Several students submitted briefs and three were selected for publication in September of 2011. In addition, Graduate Student Researchers working on CSW's "Women in Social Movements in Los Angeles, 1960-1999" project also prepared briefs.
