Harding's current work is on identifying the gender, science, and
technology issues for women living in the Third World. A book from Duke University Press examined how Western ideals
of modernity and its progressiveness both distort Western
understandings of Third World women's so-called development needs and
also obscure Westerners' understandings of how the bad effects of science
and technology transfer to the Third World. Also from Duke University press is her new reader on postcolonial science and technology studies.
