Little's research areas include Shakespeare; early modern studies; lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender studies; gender studies; African American studies; and race and ethnic studies. His publications include Shakespeare Jungle Fever: National-Imperial Re-Visions of Race, Rape and Sacrifice (Stanford, CA: Stanford University Press, 2000) and "'A local habitation and a name': Presence, Witnessing, and Queer Marriage in Shakespeare's Romantic Comedies" in Presentism, Gender, and Sexuality in Shakespeare (New York: Palgrave, 2009). He is working on a book about Hamlet.
