Made possible through the generosity of Mrs. Jean Stone, this fellowship funds an exceptional graduate student dissertation research project focusing on women or gender
Amount
One $3000 fellowship.
Criteria
- Applicant must be registered and enrolled in a doctorate program at UCLA
- Applicant must be engaged in research on women and/or gender
- Applicant must have advanced to candidacy by one month before award deadline. Students who have advanced to candidacy after the deadline are not eligible.
Special Note
- Students who are qualified under the CA Dream Act of 2011 are eligible to apply. Detailed information on the CA Dream Act of 2011 is on www.fao.ucla.edu
- Students who are receiving financial aid should consult with the Financial Aid Office. If you are selected as a recipient of this award, your financial aid package may be subject to revision.

The application requires the following documents:
- Dissertation Abstract (5 to 6 pages)
- Budget Statement (describing how the funds will be used)
- Curriculum Vitae
- Transcripts (unofficial copy is acceptable)
- Letters of recommendation from two faculty members (one of which must be
from the candidate's chair). The letters should be mailed to CSW in a sealed envelope with the recommender’s signature across the back flap.Mailing information is provided in the application form.
All application materials (Dissertation Abstract, Budget Statement, CV, and Transcripts) must be uploaded in a single PDF file.
